October is a special time for us at Faith Daycare & Learning Centre as we join the nation in celebrating our rich history and culture. In honor of National Heroes Day, which falls on October 21st this year, our school will be hosting our Heritage Day Celebration on Wednesday, October 16th. The event promises to be a colorful and educational experience for all as we teach our little ones the importance of our national identity and the heroes who paved the way for Jamaica.

As part of the celebration, we have created a stunning focal point on the school compound, decorated to showcase images of our national heroes, athletes, important cultural symbols, as well as iconic Jamaican musicians, poets, and currency, as seen in the display above. This visual reminder of our heritage will serve as a beautiful backdrop to the day's festivities.
What to Expect on Heritage Day:
We’ll be featuring traditional Jamaican dishes, generously contributed by our wonderful parents. Expect to see ackee and saltfish, jerk chicken, festival, bammy, and other delicious favorites. Parents have also donated various cultural artifacts that reflect the essence of Jamaica’s history and heritage. These items will be on display for students and staff to explore and learn from. Our students and staff will be dressed in their best Jamaican colors, black, green, and gold, along with the national fabric, the bandana, representing the vibrancy and unity of our country.
At Faith Daycare, we believe in nurturing a sense of pride and love for Jamaica in our children from an early age. This event is not just about fun, but about learning and connecting with our roots. Stay tuned to our blog as we’ll be posting updates and photos from the Heritage Day Celebration right here on our website. Let’s celebrate our One Love, One People, One Heritage together!
